Most Helpful Sites...

It's been awhile, once again! My practice has been blessed with many new clients, and our puppy has been growing and growing....which means I've had less and less time! However, I did want to address an issue that I see come up again and again!

Many times, when you move to a new place, there is no environment carved out for you to meet new friends. Unless you are particularly social, or love your co-workers, it can be a daunting task to re-invent your social network. Even if you've lived here for a while, there can come a time when meeting new people is just what the doctor (or therapist) ordered!

Which is why I've been recommending two things to just about everyone:

Meetup is a wonderful social networking site that doesn't feel date-y. It's not about finding Mr. Right (although it could lead there)-it's more about finding your book club, your knitting circle, your running partners...those peeps you are just missing here in your new city.

My other recommendation comes from years and years of singleness-I loved, and still love learning. Boston and surrounding towns have amazing Adult Education! From cooking to yoga, from pet psychics to self help, adult education has everything you need to keep your mind fresh and meet folks who have the same interests!

So, now that winter fast approaches, get out there and sign up to meet like-minded gals! Everyone needs someone to play with!

Adult ed classes are a great idea to meet new people- that is exactly how i met my husband. He and I both were taking some continuing ed classes together at a local university and happened to be enrolled in the same hiking class. We got to know one another, and really had a terrific courtship all because of this class. We were ourselves reveling in our individual singleness when the right person just happened to come along. Sometimes you will definitely find what you are looking for in places where you will least expect it. Love the blog!
