Just a quick post to tell you my latest book obsession, "Throw Out Fifty Things", by Gail Blanke. The book is an amazing room by room guide to clearing life's clutter. What I love about Gail is that she goes through this process with you, showing you what she's doing too. Near the end of the book, you get to the meat: throwing out all of the emotional baggage that's holding you back.
Which is why you kept all the crap in the first place, right?
Also, check out Gail's website here, it's great and also provides a workbook to help you navigate throwing out your own stuff for FREE.
And, just to make you smile, here's some of the stuff I threw out. I thought it would be easy, but the task to throw out fifty things in two weeks is tough. Also, ten shirts=one thing. yikes! Get your trash bags ready!
Jess's Toss List:
- old hoodie from Block Island that looks like my gram might like it
- some scary costume jewelry
- old wires that went to some computer equipment....why am I keeping those?
- a ceramic frog that broke-when it fell off the shelf, I didn't have the heart to get rid of it, but I see now that it's a broken frog collecting dust
So there you have it! My suggestion; read it and start clearing the way for healing!
